Through the centuries Christians have gathered to pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit. ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ picks up this tradition. Over the years more and more worshipping communities around the world have dedicated the days between Ascension and Pentecost to pray ‘Come Holy Spirit’.
For the first time One Church Harrow is getting together to pray and worship for ten days straight. We would love you to be a part of this. Spending our hour with God can seem rather daunting. But try it! It can be such an uplifting experience and people have testified that the hour can seem like ten minutes!
24-7 Prayer
We are encouraging everyone to commit to pray for an hour (or more!) between 26 May and 5 June. This time will be hosted by Christ Church Roxeth and you can book a prayer slot between 6am - 11pm every day during this time. The church building will be set up with various installations (some interactive) to help us focus on different topics to pray. These are themed around the idea of ‘The Table of His presence’. Various tables will be set up reminding us of ‘tables from the Bible’, helping us to deepen our relationship with Jesus as we sit and spend time with Him.
Please click the booking link above to see slots available. Multiple people can sign up to each slot except for a small number of slots where you can book exclusive use of the building for yourself or with your friends or family. These are marked on the booking page in orange. You can also opt to pray from home if you need to (see FAQ below for more information).
On booking you will receive a confirmation email and a further reminder email with more information on how to access the church during this time. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions below for further details.

24-7 Prayer Frequently Asked Questions

There is normally plenty of parking in the dedicated church car park, and additional parking is available by turning right just after the YMCA building. Go through the glass doors of the church and up the stairs. There will be a bell to ring (at the top of the stairs) to let those currently praying know you are arriving. Whilst we hope every hour is filled it is possible that no one will be in the building before you, so feel free to enter the church on the hour.
Step-free access is available at the far-left of the building by the disabled parking spaces; if possible please email Barbara Kuekes-Patel: admin@ccrharrow.org to request this in advance so that we can ensure the transept door is unlocked for you.
On booking you will receive a confirmation email and a further reminder email with more information on how to access the church during this time.

We would strongly encourage everyone who is able to come to Christ Church in person to do so; there is very something special about entering a space dedicated to prayer, where others have been pray for hours or days before you.
However, if you are unable to attend in person we would still love for you to commit to praying with us at home (or wherever you are) for an hour or more during this time. Please use the link above to book your slot so that you can commit to a certain time to pray and so that we know you are part of this chain of prayer. If you intend to pray from home simply write ‘home’ in brackets next to your name when you sign up, so that we know not to expect you in person. (For example, you would enter your name as “John Smith (home)” on the booking page.)

All are welcome to pray at Christ Church during this week, with activities set up for children and one of the prayer stations is being designed and set up by some of our young people. A great time to bring your children and grandchildren along and share ideas and pray together.
Children of all ages are welcome to come during any of the available sessions providing they are supervised by an adult and can engage with the prayer stations. If you are worried about your children disrupting others who are praying you can either book out the church with exclusive use (only available during certain sessions - see below) or join our special kids or youth sessions:
Kids Hour Friday 3 June 10-11am A chance for families with children aged from 3 to 11 to explore prayer stations together in a friendly and comfortable environment without worrying about disturbing those who prefer a quiet space, and an opportunity to join together in worship at the end of the session. If possible, please book your family to come using the 24-7 booking page so that we know who to expect. Thanks!
OneChurch Harrow Youth Drop In Wednesday 1 June, 2-4pm Young people aged 11-18 are welcome to drop by during this time for prayer and reflection hosted by the OneChurch Harrow Youth team, followed by a trip to McDonalds at 4pm.

In the stillness and quietness of the night it is a wonderful time to be with God – can we encourage you to give it a go if you haven’t tried it before. If coming after 10pm and before 7am you may like to come with another person or at least let someone know where you are. It is a good idea to bring your mobile and there will be an emergency mobile number displayed should an urgent issue arise.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
